It depends on your capability: Normally you will pay for a domain name – $10 a year (that will be the name of your website, but you can also host your email and so forth on it) Then you need to host your website at a hosting company for a monthly fee. BUT, you can have a website for free with free hosting – One such service is from Microsoft: http://www.officelive.com/en-GB/ All you need is a Live ID, like a Hotmail account. From there you can design your own website with templates; drag and drop and so forth and it will be hosted for free. You can go open source and use software like Drupal or Joomla and get these hosted for free as well – the only limitation would be your monthly bandwidth limit and possibly email hosting. (basically) Here is some free hosting urls: http://www.byethost.com/ and http://www.5quidhost.co.uk/ – I would suggest the latter.

With all of this said – Is there no way to patch things up? I am sure your mom loves you – she carried you for 9 months, brought you into this life and took care of you till now. I felt like tat before as a youngster too, but realized how stupid I was – they usually wants the best for you and your future. Now that I am married myself I appreciate the fact that it is not easy and for sure your mom isn’t perfect – but who is? I lost my mom to Cancer and I miss her hugs and I haven’t told her that I love her and I wish I could – but too late.

I do not care where you rate this answer – I just care wouldn’t want people to do the same mistakes I did. I wish you well and hope you will think things through.

It costs money if you want a professional website.
You can do something like Tripod or some other free ones.
But you can also upgrade and they remove the ads so you design the site and if you pay a small fee then they remove the ads.
But if you go to someone to design it and get it all set up for you then of course it’s going to cost.

2) You learn HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL and PHP – for starters.

3) You design the site, then you write code to i mplement it.

It can cost nothing (host it on your own computer and use a dynamic DNS service for a named address) or pwy a web host and buy a domain name.

Well, based on my knowledge of website creating, you can use useful website kits if you’re a starter, such as wix.com, yola.com, etc.

But, if you want to make it from complete scratch, then I would suggest learning the main coding of a website that is very popular first, HTML, css, and Java script, eventually, you’ll be able to make basic templates and add your own pictures and links. There are hundreds of other coding languages out there too, but I estimate you’ll only necessarily need about 10 of them to make a full blown website, that will astonish your friends.

I’d recommend taking classes for coding websites and such, if this advice above didn’t help much. :)

Extra Info: Make sure you have the pictures you’d want to provide, start on the smallest. The logo, the top bar, etc. Coding can only make lines and very basic templates, but they can’t draw for you.

You could try something like Google Sites which is free and has templates to help get you started. The ones that aren’t free usually have templates and they allow you to use your own domain name (something.com). There are also content management systems (CMS) like Joomla that you could use if you want more advanced features, and the paid hosting sites will usually set you up with them and then you can customize them. The W3C site can provide you with more info if you want to actually learn how to write your own code.

Domain registration and web hosting are two separate things. You can get a domain from places like GoDaddy and then host it anywhere (lots of hosting sites are only a few dollars a month and they are ad-free that way where free ones will usually put ads on your site). If you register it yourself you will save some money and you can take it with you if you end up switching hosts.
