Doug & the Slugs – It’s Got To Be Monday

I haven’t seen this one from the band on youtube yet. Sorry it’s slightly out of sync towards the end. Long live the ’80s!

These are great! But the one Doug & the Slugs tune I cannot find is “Real
Enough” – has anyone seen it here at YouTube?

I was lucky enough to see him at the Boo Pub (I think that is what it was
called, corner of North Road and Lougheed, no longer there now). We were
right in front of the stage. Doug was singing Devil with a blue dress and
my friend had on a blue shirt so he changed the lyrics to Devil with a blue
shirt…damn good singer…wish Itunes carried his music.

You are so right!! One pre season Lions game we got a free concert,
Trooper, Chiliwack and Doug and the Slugs, 2 semi trailers full of
speakers, a memorable concert, Doug was the best. He was singing and
climbed up and over the wall to join the crowd and kept on singing.I was
also lucky enough to see Doug and the Slugs right here in Campbell River
some years later, dancing with my woman to all his best songs, 3 feet from
the stage! It still chokes me up knowing he has left this life….

Good ole Doug, I saw him perform at a bar around the bay in Newfoundland in
the mid 80’s. He started his show by lying on the floor of the stage with
the mic next to his mouth and sang “too bad” cuse the crowd wasn’t very
    excited!…lol
There is a community not far from the bar that was called “gayside” which
has since changed the name, doug made a joke about it and quickly
apologized afterwards, when the band went to get the van to pack up they
discovered they had 4 slashed tires.
He was a really cool guy…
